7th Women’s Mathematics Olympiad held

Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar and Jatiya Press Club President Farida Yasmin was present:

The Seventh Women’s Mathematics Olympiad 2023 was held at Dhaka University’s AF Mujibur Rahman Mathematics Building on Saturday.

Over 120 female undergraduate students from various public universities participated in the event.

The Women’s Mathematics Olympiad Committee organised the event to celebrate International Women’s Day in cooperation with the AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation, Dhaka University’s mathematics department, and the Applied Mathematics department.

Dhaka University vice-chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the event.

The science faculty dean, Md Abdus Samad, mathematics department chairman, Md Shahidul Islam, Bangladesh Women’s Mathematics Olympiad Committee president Chandra Nath Poddar, and general secretary, Tania Sharmin Khalek, were among others present at the opening ceremony.

Posts and telecommunications minister Mustafa Jabbar was present as chief guest at the prize-giving ceremony, where Jatiya Press Club President Farida Yasmin was present as a special guest.

The top 10 winners were awarded a certificate, a crest, and prize money.

They are Malik Sabiha Tasnim, Saborni Sikder Rama, Joyonty Ghosh, Tanha Rahman, Khadija Akter Asha, Nabila Anjum, Maimoona Hossain Moumita, Farabi Iqbal Khan, Moriom Islam, and Sharmin Sultana.
