This year, Nobel Peace Prize-winning Iranian human rights activist Nargis Mohammadi started a hunger strike in prison. He is on hunger strike to protest the government's decision not to provide medical care to this imprisoned human rights activist.

51-year-old Nargis started her fast from November 6 (Monday).

According to reports, 51-year-old Nargis Mohammadi is suffering from heart and lung problems. But last week, prison authorities did not allow her to go to the hospital after she refused to wear a headscarf.

Meanwhile, Nargis' family said that Nargis is currently imprisoned in Evin Prison in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The hunger strike began today to protest the neglect of treatment of sick women prisoners and the policy of compulsory hijab for women.

Family members alleged that Nargis had three blocks in her heart. He is suffering from lung problem. The prison officials did not take her to the hospital because she did not want to wear the hijab. He is not even allowed to take medicine. Nargis survives by eating only salt, water and sugar.

Nargis Mohammadi won the Nobel Peace Prize this year. She was awarded this honor in recognition of her fight against violence against women in the country.

According to the Nobel Committee website, Nargis Mohammadi is a woman, human rights activist and freedom fighter. His courageous fight for freedom of expression and freedom of expression came at a personal cost. Iranian authorities arrested him 13 times and convicted him five times. He was jailed for a total of 31 years. He was sentenced to 154 lashes. He is still in prison.
